What clients say
My mother is 84 and could no longer cut her own nails. Luísa came to the house, took care of everything with enormous calm and even explained how to look after her feet between visits.
I'd had an ingrown toenail for months and was afraid of going to a clinic. One visit at home and it was sorted, painlessly. Now I have maintenance every two months.
I'm diabetic and my doctor insists on foot care. Having someone I trust come to the house, with sterilised instruments, gives me a peace of mind that is priceless.
Who looks after your feet
Medical Pedicure is Luísa Saramago. She has cared for feet for 11 years — she started because she saw people in pain that nobody treated, especially older people who could no longer reach their own feet. Today she visits whoever needs her, calmly and with the right equipment.

Frequently asked questions
The questions we hear most often.
What is the difference between a medical pedicure and podiatry?
Podiatry is a regulated health profession practised by licensed podiatrists who diagnose and treat foot pathologies. A medical pedicure is technical, preventive foot care: trimming and thinning nails, treating corns, calluses, cracked heels and fungal nails, with sterilised instruments. If we see something that needs a podiatrist or doctor, we tell you and refer you.
How much does a medical pedicure at home cost in Lisbon?
€55 in Lisbon, Amadora, Odivelas, Loures and Oeiras, travel included. €60 in Cascais, Estoril, Sintra, Almada, Seixal and Barreiro. €70 in Mafra, Ericeira, Moita, Montijo, Alcochete, Sesimbra, Palmela and Setúbal. The regular maintenance plan is €45 per visit.
Which areas do you cover?
We start from Lisbon and cover all of Greater Lisbon on both sides of the Tagus: Lisbon, Amadora, Odivelas, Loures, Oeiras, Cascais, Estoril, Sintra, Almada, Seixal, Barreiro, Mafra, Ericeira, Moita, Montijo, Alcochete, Sesimbra, Palmela and Setúbal. Elsewhere, on request.
Do you treat ingrown toenails at home? Does it hurt?
Yes. We remove the part of the nail that is growing in and correct the trimming to reduce the chance of it coming back. In most cases relief is immediate and discomfort during treatment is minimal. With an active infection, we refer you to a doctor.
I have diabetes. Can I have a medical pedicure?
Yes, and it is especially recommended. We trim nails safely, treat calluses and cracked skin with extra care and watch for skin changes. We have experience in care homes and with people with diabetes. It does not replace your regular diabetic foot check with a doctor.
Are the instruments sterilised?
Yes. Instruments are sterilised, and blades, files and gloves are single-use, new for every client. We work with the same hygiene standards as a clinic, in your home.
How long does a visit take and how often should I repeat it?
Between 45 and 60 minutes. For thick nails, calluses and preventive care, most people benefit from a visit every 4 to 6 weeks — our maintenance plan.
Do you visit care homes and senior residences?
Yes. We do monthly rounds in care homes and institutions with 4 or more residents, at €40 per person. Contact us to arrange a first visit.
How do I book?
WhatsApp or call +351 967 239 632, Monday to Saturday. We agree the day and time with you. Payment at the end of the visit, in cash or MB Way. We speak Portuguese and English.
